Paul Imperia, MD
Dr. Paul Imperia is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in laser vision correction. A fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he has performed more than 20,000 successful vision correction procedures.
One of the Pacific Northwest’s most experienced vision correction surgeons, Dr. Imperia teaches fellow ophthalmologists and optometrists in the fields of refractive and corneal surgery, and lectures at national medical meetings. In addition to participating in the FDA’s early studies on LASIK, Dr. Imperia has conducted a broad range of research involving corneal and refractive surgery, the physiology of healing after laser surgery, immunologic diseases of the eye, and drug studies involving patients’ post-operative comfort. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks.
Dr. Imperia received his medical degree, with honors, from Albany Medical College in New York in 1983, and completed an internship in internal medicine and an ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve’s University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio. He entered private practice in 1991, following a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. Today, Dr. Imperia lives and works in the Rogue Valley, so he’s always available to provide follow-up care or advice if you need it.
Legally blind without glasses or contacts before surgery, Dr. Imperia’s LASIK procedure resulted in the 20/20 vision he enjoys today. He understands the questions and issues you have when considering laser vision correction and can respond with the absolute confidence of someone who’s experienced it first-hand.
Throughout the region, more than 450 other eye doctors, their staffs, and their families have trusted Dr. Imperia to perform vision correction surgeries on their eyes. It’s a choice you can make with confidence too.
